Joyce Mary Tully (1933 – 2023) lived modestly in Northumberland, though her talent was widely recognised beyond the region. Trained at Hammersmith Art College and under Harold Workman, she was part of the Chelsea Arts Set and exhibited at venues including the Paris Salon and Mall Galleries. Her work is held in private collections across Britain, Europe and the US. This collection features oils, watercolours, pastels and pencil drawings, many showing local scenes.

Staircase Gallery

The small 'staircase gallery' is devoted to the work of Peter Podmore. We also hold an archive of his work relating to Northumberland. There is an extensive collection of original artwork and prints, some on display but most is in storage. To arrange to view the archive please contact Kath Maley.

Gallery Information

The gallery comprises a large white wooden-panelled room and the smaller ‘staircase gallery’ (located at the top of the stairs). The available space is very flexible. We welcome enquiries from any local artists or crafts' people who may wish to discuss the possibility of exhibiting here. Please email Kath Maley for details or use the contact page.
